My Big Fat Stinky Wedding

Well, not mine. But tonight on "Chowder", everyone's favoirite animated fart cloud is getting married. It's the second and final board I did for the show, and is the last thing anyone will ever see that I did for Cartoon Network. Hope you enjoy it!

when you say "is the last thing anyone will ever see that I did for Cartoon Network", are you saying you're done with cartoon network for good, or do you mean that it's just the last thing you did in the past that they plan to air?

Maxwell,
I'm a huge fan and I'm so excited that I have a chance to talk to you. I'm upset that you're leaving CN. But they seriously need to get their heads out of their ass and realize we don't like the new crap they have. Chowder & Flapjack are great but that's about it. TDI/TDA & Clone Wars are okay but they're not even from CN, they're from Teletoon and Lucasfilm. I never understood why most of the great cartoon creators only get one shot then they just kinda disappear. Especially with Nicktoons. I even heard that Chowder was cancelled! WTF?!?!?!?!?!? Why? And why did they never air the Ed, Edd, n Eddy series finale movie. BTW, did you see it? It was great! The only prob. I have with it is it totally ends the series. You can't continue with an ending like that. Billy & Mandy ended open. You can continue your series if they let you, but Ed, Edd, n Eddy has been concluded. So that's about all I have to say, enjoy yourself at Disney, just stay away from that Hannah Montana girl, she's bad news. LOL just kidding.

Evan

P.S. Where the **** is the Season 2 DVD? And Ed, Edd, n Eddy Season 3? And a Dexter's Laboratory DVD? Courage The Cowardly Dog? Johnny Bravo? Codename: KND? Even though the Season 1 DVD was bland. The only good special feature was the featurette with you making a total ass of yourself. Hilarious! I had a vision one day of an Ultimate Box Set that would do justice to your awesome cretion. The Ultimate Grim & Evil Collection, with all seven seasons of The Grim Adventures, all episodes of Evil Con Carne, commentaries on at least 60% of the episodes, featurettes, interviews, the Underfist movie, Big Boogey Adventure, and maybe a separate disc containing the old episodes in the Grim & Evil format... and animated menus pleeeeaaaase. But that's just a dream of mine. They planned an Ultimate Ren & Stimpy Collection in 2005 and that still hasn't come out. Perhaps a petition would help.

P.S.S. Any chance of you going to NY Comic-Con this year, it'd be awesome to meet you.

P.S.S.S. I like applesauce.

P.S.S.S.S. If Chowder really has been cancelled, could you ask C.H. Greenblatt to return to SpongeBob? SpongeBob is dying without it's old writers, and C.H. was one of the best. Good talkin to ya.

Hmm, it seems neither you nor CH seems to like the new CN much, and I definitely don't blame you. Still, I'm excited to see more of your work, and I hope whatever you're working on at other places goes well.

Mr. Atoms, I am deeply saddened by this. You, along with Mr. Greenblatt, Mr. McCracken and every other animator formerly on CN, are what made Cartoon Network an amazing network, and I, along with every other person loyal to the classic Cartoon Network, will miss you and your work.

David, an advocate of high-quality cartoons.

I really loved his episode. Its just too bad cartoon network are turning their back on what made the network good. now they are showing actual "shows" and that one horrible cartoon *total drama island* I only tune in when they show Chowder and Flapjack, Oh and the rare occasion when they show Billy and Mandy. I wish you guys all the luck and keep the cartoons coming.

Maxwell,

It says Billy and Mandy is getting a trans-creation in India. Did you know about this?

6:10 PM
Blogger Maxwell Atoms said...

When I said it was the last thing anyone would see that I did for CN, I meant that in almost every way you can think imagine, but mostly just that it was the last thing I did that they're going to air.

I have no involvement in the "trans-creation" thing in India. I can't even imagine what that would be like. Maybe they'll put in some CG Dewbacks.

I am indeed at Disney now, and as soon as Disney's ready to talk about the show... I will be too! I can say that we've got a total dream crew and that it's going to be a lot of fun!

So somebody else might be interested in picking up some of the cancelled shows? How does that work? Will Chowder have a chance? Total drama island is crap.

Wow sir!! I love both Chowder and The Grim Adventures of billy and Mandy!! I didn't know you had a blog!! :O Im happy. But, heres the downturn. Anonymous says and I quote:

Well i don't agree with the "I only watch chowder and flapjack and the billy and mandy guys on rare occasions" I watch alot of shows from Cartoon Network.

And did you come up with those many-eyed, wonderful BOOGLY BOOGLYing mushroom monsters? They looked like your monster design style in clay form.

Really cool episode showing us more of Chowder's weird world outside the city, lots of amusing one-liners and some of your signature poses and close-ups.

Commenters seem poor at actually acknowledging what you have to say.

I can't wait to learn more about your next big project!

I wish you the best with where you're going with Disney. I trust you're going to be working with some of the guys who stuck their necks out to do Rob Zombie's El Superbeasto. Please try not to deviate away from the nutty horror themed stuff you're famous for. You really do have a following, not just kids, only people with half a brain can understand some of the innuendo in Billy and Mandy. Thanks for a great show.

So, you're going to the competition, now? CN is gonna hate you for that :P

5:25 AM
Anonymous Sam said...

I have a question for you, sir. What's with CN's lack of give a damn about Billy and Mandy? That has to be one of the most successful shows they've ever aired. It's one of the best, certainly, and one of my favorites? Are we ever going to get the remainder of the series on dvd, or did they decide that after season one, it's more profitable to release 25 Ben-10 dvds instead of anything good? Perhaps you can tell me. All I want is my Billy and Mandy.

Either way, keep up the good work, if Disney allows you to.

Looks like your new show for Disney has been confirmed:http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/television/news/e3ib210d7c7d7c12f5f65897e7d3c5365b3

It's called FishHooks. The reason why I say it's your new show because it credits "Adam Burton". That's your real name! The jig is up, Maxwell!

Out of curiosity, how often did you hide images in the Cartoon Network shows you worked in?

You know, like Grim's head popping up for a single frame at the beginning of Evil Con Carne episode "Ultimate Evil".

I love finding freeze frame bonuses like that.

Or maybe I just have too much free time.

Or both!

Have you gone out at some time in Billy and Mandy or in Evil Con Carne?

If you have gone out, might you say in that chapter and with what aspect?

@ Anonymous:
Yup! It's all true! More on that soon. And by "soon" I mean "when the stars align". 'Cause that's how I roll.

@ Sam:
I don't speak for CN, so all I can say is "write letters". Maybe someone will listen.

@ Vayne:
Part of the point of Grim was to make fun of what our culture views as evil, so we really embraced silly things like back-masking and "subliminal" editing tricks. None of it was hidden from the Network so there's nothing "inappropriate", but there are plenty of treats that a few really bored people with a remote control could find.

@ Boogey/Velma/Bun:
I'm not sure I understand the question, but if I went out I'd go get some Taco Bell. Almost certainly.

I mean, if you has appeared or parodied or represented by a character in ECC or in B&M

A example: in The Simpsons Matt Groening has appeared in 6 episodes.

I wonder if you has appeared in an episode of your series and in what episodes.

And I'm sorry, is that I'm from Spain and I do not know much English.

CN has gone down the drain since they canceled all the Cartoon Cartoons. Going to Disney is not that much of an improvement. Disney is still considered a child's t.v. channel. Maxwell, you have to go to a channel that doesn't censer language and stuff like that. You are a funny dude, and if you can make Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy funny without swearing, you could make it hilarious with.

I am not saying swearing makes a show funny, but with it you can make it South Park funny. When I grow up I want to become an animator like you, but I don't understand why you go to groups like Disney or CN.

Hi Maxwell!

A question:

What happened with the episodes "Past" and "Skarrina" of "Evil Con Carne"?

6:27 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

If I remember right...
The B&M episode where they meet Father Time and visit the giant halls of hourglasses of people's lives. Billy or Irwin drops and breaks one and they go "oh well, no one important probably!"
Then the show cuts to a cartoonist sitting at his drawing table, holding up a piece of paper and saying "This is my best work yet!" then he disappears.

Why? Billy and Mandy is THE BEST SHOW I HAVE EVER SEEN!! I am serious! All the good shows on CN are coming to an end but you CAN'T LET BILLY AND MANDY DIE! At least make a special every once in a while... PLEASE!

What I want to know is ... Who are you in the TV series of Billy and Mandy?

Are you the artist who appears in "The Halls of Time"?

Are you the artist who appears in "King Tooten Pooten"?

Are you the two artists?

Or you are "Max Courage" from "Evil Con Carne?
